This trip is part of a Job Shadowing project in which we were visited by Janna Karppinen (vice Principal), Mari Ojanen (Music Teacher), Matias Nykänen (Special Needs Teacher) and Pekka Danschu (Technology Teacher).

Their main objective was to learn first-hand about our BRIDGE CLASSROOM and learn how we work in it: it is the classroom where we welcome students who have recently arrived from foreign countries and do not speak Spanish. They are especially interested in this project since they receive more students from foreign countries every year and want to see other points of view that will help them to integrate this student profile into their educational system.

We are especially proud that they decided to visit us because it shows that we are doing a good job integrating these students; In addition, it has also been very beneficial for us to be able to share experiences with them, discuss common challenges and, in the long run, grow together as teaching professionals.

During their stay, there has also been time for them to get to know our whole school: they loved visiting PequeCAS and pre-school, where they saw the great work they do with the little ones, they were lucky enough to be able to see some of the performances of the end of year festival of the little ones. They also visited a primary school class to share and learn from our teachers and, of course, we also took time to share a good lunch and for them to try the classic Spanish tapas and taste the delicious products of the Aranjuez grove.

In short, it has been a very fruitful visit, in which we have been able to create strong bonds with mates from a school that we have a special affection for. We hope that we will carry out common projects again and see each other in person soon enough.

La semana pasada recibimos la visita de cuatro profesores de nuestro “colegio hermano”: Rastaalan Koulu, en Espoo, muy cerquita de Helsinki, la capital de Finlandia.
